Privacy notice

This archive holds as little about you as it can. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third party scripts anywhere on the site. Nothing about you is sold or shared for marketing.

Who is responsible

The archive is run privately by Muhammad Bilal in the United Kingdom, and is the data controller for the small amount of personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].

What is stored about you

• Your email address. That is the whole account. There is no password, because signing in works by emailing you a link.
• Your role and approval date, so the site knows whether you can upload.
• Sign in links, stored while they are valid and expiring after 15 minutes.
• An activity log of actions taken in the archive, such as uploading, renaming, downloading or deleting. Each entry records which account did what, and when.
• What you upload, if you are an uploader: the video file, its title and the thumbnail taken from it.

No IP addresses, device details or location data are recorded by the application. No profile is built about you and nothing is used to target you.

Cookies

One cookie, and it is the one that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, so there is no consent banner to click. It lasts 30 days and is renewed while you keep visiting. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, and no third party can set one here.

Why it is stored

Your email address is used to sign you in, to tell you when your account is approved, and to reach you about the archive if something needs saying. Under UK GDPR the lawful basis is that it is necessary to provide the account you asked for, and the legitimate interest of keeping a private archive secure and working.

Your email address is never used for marketing, because there is nothing to market.

Where it goes

• The database sits on a rented server in Europe and holds your email address, your role and the activity log.
• Video files sit on a home server in the United Kingdom. They never pass through a third party content network.
• Email is sent through ZeptoMail, a Zoho service, on its European infrastructure. It handles your address only in order to deliver the message.
• Cover art is loaded from IGDB, so your browser requests images from their servers and they may log that request the way any website would.

Nobody else receives your data. It is not sold, rented or shared.

How long it is kept

Your account is kept until you ask for it to be removed, or until the archive shuts down. Sign in links expire after 15 minutes. Activity log entries are kept while the archive runs, because they are how a mistaken deletion gets traced.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Deleting your account removes your email address and your role. Email [email protected] and it will be done. There is no process to go through.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Accounts are approved by hand and the archive is not aimed at children.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. See also the terms of use.
